Noir Afloat with Ernest Marquez

Noir Afloat

Noir Afloat with Ernest Marquez: Thursday, October 27

Lecture begins at 7:00 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Steele Model Pavilion

ExplorOcean/Newport Harbor Nautical Museum in collaboration with the Newport Beach Historical Society is proud to present Ernest Marquez, author of "Noir Afloat: Tony Carnero and the Notorious Gambling Ships of Southern California".

Join us as we revisit prohibition-era Southern California and learn about the infamous gambling ships that once anchored off the coast and the notorious gangsters who controlled these floating sin cities. In addition to recounting this by-gone era, Marquez will offer nautical history buffs a detailed record of the gambling ships, tracing these vessels to their earliest service on the sea.

Author Ernest Marquez will also be signing copies of his book at the event.
